Antidote

I am, and have always been a huge fan of the macabre/emotive side of photography. There is something so primal yet undeniably relevant about the sheer raw emotion that the genre brings to the viewer.

This shot/manipulation does a wonderful job of conveying a dark atmosphere. Without saying too much, I think that what makes this piece work so well is the fact that the face of the model takes up the entire frame making the important aspects of the piece entirely unavoidable by the viewer. In particular the eyes. The eyes seem to pierce right through the screen and the viewer.

The execution of the piece is overall top notch. The texturing on the models nose seems a little odd at first glance, almost like being out of focus. Something about that breaks up the flow of the rest of the piece for me, yet still fits, if that makes any sense at all.

Bottom line, fantastic job. I really enjoyed exploring the image <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />
